Theatre Skills Day info………..

We have NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) trained and professional practitioners coming to run sessions over the course of the day, with participants having the chance to dip into many different theatre skills, including voice & text, theatre make-up, song & dance, Shakespeare and lighting design. This event is open to all – including those from other local groups, complete beginners and those who already have some experience. This will be a great opportunity to learn new skills, and hone your existing talents!

We are always looking for new members (young & adult) and it would be a great introductory day for anyone wanting to give it a try and meet us without committing to membership. We are an award winning amateur drama group based in Corfe Castle that offers a welcoming, comfortable, non-competitive environment in which we encourage everyone to take part, doing as little, or as much, as they wish to. Being part of a drama group can really help develop so many life skills, not just acting abilities. Improving self-confidence, public speaking, teamwork and group communication, not to mention all of the technical stagecraft skills to be learnt off stage with lighting, costumes, set and prop design and construction, writing and directing.

It doesn’t matter how shy or inexperienced you or your children are, here at DOUBLE ACT we are a very friendly bunch, helping to nurture any natural talent and growing everyone’s confidence on and off the stage. Age is no barrier, we have members from 10 to 90 years old. All we need is your enthusiasm!

On the day, participants should bring a packed lunch for themselves. Hot drinks and squash will be provided free. All ages and abilities are welcome! To cover our costs, we charge Adults £15 and Students £5. Children (suggested 9+) are free with a participating adult.

This year Double Act are performing the Wizard of Oz as our main production in November. We are keen for new members, especially youngsters who would be willing to be involved in the chorus. For your information, rehearsals are on Sunday and Monday evenings from 7-9pm and the show dates this year are 26th, 27th and 28th November.

We look forward to hearing from you, if you would like more information please email info@double-act.org.uk.

To book a place on the workshop, please email  sylvia.coates@noda.org.uk by 15th March.

We look forward to meeting you!
